Purpose of the Post:

To provide a broad range of support services within Technical and Building operations, contributing to the effective delivery of maintenance works and building services and providing general support across all operations functions including but not limited to stage door, hospitality and visitor services. Fulfill duties as part of an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support where needed.

Principle responsibilities:

Building Maintenance

  • General building maintenance duties, including minor decorative, building and carpentry work; general repair and maintenance of small/domestic appliances.
  • Supporting the delivery of a program of regular inspection, testing and maintenance of buildings, plant and equipment at the Theatre Royal in line with the Trusts policies, safe systems of working and compliance legislation; liaison with and supervision of nominated service contractors whilst on site.
  • Monitoring the maintenance request portal to ensure expedient resolution to reported issues.
  • Supporting all building operations including but not limited to; assisting with general portering, building access requests, receiving of deliveries and event and hire space preparation.
  • To be a designated key holder for NTRT working as part of the out of hours on-call team in line with the NTRT Stand-by and On-Call Policy.
  • Provide support to the Head of Technical and Building regarding any building development works and projects.

Health and Safety

  • Support all operations teams to ensure the safe operation of the building across all activity; be a member of the ERT (emergency response team) undertaking safety marshal duties
  • Undertake first aid duties (training will be provided)
  • Contribute to a positive and dynamic Health and Safety culture throughout all activities and duties.

General

  • To be a designated key holder for NTRT
  • Undertaking such other relevant duties as may be requested from time to time by the Head of Technical and Building.

Duties as a member of the Theatre Royal team

· Ensuring that the working environment and practices conform to the Trust’s Health and Safety and GDPR Policies, appropriate Child Protection legislation and Health and Safety Legislation

· To take all reasonable care and responsibility for the Health and Safety of themselves and other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions and to co-operate with the Trust in achieving and maintaining Health and Safety requirements.

Hours

  • Full - Time - 39hours per week.  This role involves evening and weekend work and being on an on-call rota.

Salary

We are currently offering a salary of £29,974 for this role.

There are also additional on-call and call out payments

We’re also in the process of developing a clearer pay progression structure across the organisation, as part of our commitment to fair and transparent reward.

This salary reflects the initial positioning of the role within our current benchmarking, with scope to grow as the role and individual develop. .If you would like to discuss this further, please let us know.
