About the Role
This role exists to support Theatre Royal’s mission and strategy by contributing your skills, knowledge, and experience to deliver excellent outcomes for the organisation and our audiences.

The Communications Manager role is responsible for show campaign and audience communications as well as marcomms planning and delivery for our two hospitality spaces; The Green Room and 100 Grey Street. The role will also support development and delivery of internal communications. This is a hands-on role suited to a communications professional with strong media relations experience, excellent copy-writing skills, and the ability to work quickly and collaboratively.
Key responsibilities:
Role specific
- Plan and deliver integrated marketing and PR campaigns for all productions.
- Lead media relations, generating press coverage through releases, interviews, events, and creative story development.
- Support audience development activity to increase customer frequency and retention using data, insight and customer segmentations.
- Develop and oversee our data lead e-comms strategy.
- Support internal communications planning and delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, visiting companies, publicists, and media contacts.
- Oversee production of key marketing materials, including season brochures.
- Support the development of brand strategy, ensuring consistency across the organisation
Responsibilities as a Line Managers
- Provide clear leadership, direction, and support to your team.

- Manage and develop team members through regular feedback and coaching.
- Ensure team members comply with all relevant policies and procedures, including health and safety, safeguarding, and data protection.

- Support staff wellbeing and foster a positive, inclusive working environment.
- Contribute to process improvements and collaborative initiatives.

- Carry out your role to a high standard, using your skills and knowledge to help achieve Theatre Royal’s goals.
- Work flexibly, adapting to changing priorities and supporting colleagues as needed.

Hours
- Full - Time - 39hours per week.
Salary
The salary range is £34,125- £37,880 for this role.
We generally hire at the starting point of this range, allowing significant room for growth, salary progression, and development based on performance.
