About the Role
This role exists to support Theatre Royal’s mission and strategy by contributing your skills, knowledge, and experience to deliver excellent outcomes for the organisation and our audiences.
While your key responsibilities are outlined below, our work evolves. We value flexibility and ask all colleagues to be willing to undertake reasonable duties within their skills and experience to help achieve our shared goals. You’ll also work in line with our policies, procedures, and legal requirements, including health and safety, safeguarding, and data protection.
The Finance Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the Theatre by ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. Working as part of the Finance team, the postholder will maintain the integrity of financial records, support effective cash flow management, and provide excellent service to internal colleagues and external suppliers and customers. The role contributes to the smooth running of the finance function through the accurate processing of transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and administration of the purchase and sales ledgers.
Who might this role suit?
We're keen to hear from a broad range of candidates and would encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every point in the job description.
This role could be a great fit for someone with previous finance or accounting experience who is looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity, perhaps around three days per week. Equally, it could suit someone who has already started a finance or accounting apprenticeship and is looking for the opportunity to continue their studies while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
We're genuinely open-minded about who joins us. Different people bring different strengths, and we'd rather have a conversation with someone who is excited about the opportunity than focus on finding a perfect match on paper. We are happy to shape the role around the right candidate and discuss what could work best for both you and the business.
So, if you're reading the job description and thinking, "I could see myself doing this," we'd love to hear from you.
If you'd like an informal chat before applying, please email Helen at Helen.Costello@thatreroyal.co.uk to talk through the role, the flexibility available, and whether it might be the right fit for you.
